500 Times, Issue #45—Great filmmakers start short. A newspaper cover showcasing the earliest short films of great filmmakers. Inspired by director Chong Meng Hong’s iconic photograph Pingtung, 1986, the design echoes old film reels—the perforated edges, the rolling stripes, each frame nearly the same yet somehow different, much like the photograph itself.
